Winter 2011 ::: Family photos

On what happened to be one of the coldest days of the year so far, we had our first session of family photos taken! H an I never had engagment photos taken, and never got around to taking family photos of just the three of us. So when we had Piggy we decided once he turned one, we would finally take some.  Our photographer was great and did a great job with our restless kiddos towards the end. We will defintely be calling her for more in the future! I love them all, so I think I will have them all printed into a book, but here are some of my favorite ones ::

Spiffy new lens....

We spent Monday at the Children's Museum and helping Lu master the art of roller skating! I recieved a cool little lens for Christmas and have goals to get out and shoot more. You know my three constant subjects are pretty awesome but I need more practice!

Eve of Christmas Eve

H, Lu and I sliced and baked some cookies for Santa Claus. Chicken was so excited!!!!
We also took this time to explain to her that Christmas was not all about buying things for one another or being good for one month so Santa will bring you a present. I do realize that she is a kid and the belief in Santa is pretty fun one, so of course we indulge also :) My hope is that nights like these stick with her forever and that we are raising a well rounded individual.

This morning we woke up and it looks like Santa made a little stop and he drank all his milk and even had a couple cookies!

Upcycled T-shirt Blanket

I finally finished one of my little lady's Christmas presents. A t-shirt blanket I have been promising to make her for a couple years now! I started it when she turned 3, it is made of some of her favorite onesies she wore between newborn to 2 years of age. It includes the sweet onsies my parents, sister, husband and I made for her before she was born. I cut out squares from the onsies, then used an old t-shirt of my husbands to tie them all together, then I sewed the back of it, which is just a cute blanket I bought a thrift store for $1. It is not perfect, but I hope she loves it. I know I do, as I was sewing it together, it brought back memories of her in each of them.. Aaaah why does time go by so fast, I want it slow down..
