Sketchbook Project

Have you heard of The Sketchbook Project? One purchases a sketchbook (deadline was November 15), recieves sketchbook, fills sketchbook with any medium that will fit, then returns sketchbook. These sketchbooks will then be part of a traveling exhibit, the sketchbooks have barcodes on them so the artist will be able to track it. We thought this idea was so awesome that we purchased one for our 3 1/2 year old daughter!

Now I realize that she is not a child prodigy with exceptional art skills, but we thought this would be a neat way to catalog her little drawings. Lately, she has been doodling at night, and I love how random lines, dots, and messy circles make up a dinosaur, a roach, a car, her baby brother, etc... I am still thinking of ways to describe what she drew, I think what I will do is just ask her what her finished drawing is and simply write it at the bottom of the page. I'm excited to see what come of this!!!!

Kahlos' Room

When we found out we were having a boy, husband and I were both excited! I, of course, immediately starting thinking about what "theme" we were going to decorate his room. We both agreed that we didn't want the usual sports theme, train theme, or elephants, etc.. though all cute, we just wanted something simple and a bit different. After throwing some ideas around with a good friend, we finally came up with a 'Luchador' theme. My husband is a big fan of mexican decor, and coincedentally we already had a luchador collection in our kitchen!

Here are some photos I literally just snapped, they are kind of dark as it is almost 11:00 pm , and I will have to leave to get induced in about 45 minutes!!! So to keep busy until then I took some quick photos and posted!

Lulus' Room

Since moving into our house in June, we haven't quite finished a complete room. The only 2 rooms we have managed to complete our Lunas' and Kahlos'. Though I'm sure we will always be adding and rearranging.

This is Lunas' room, she loves the color pink but I didn't want to go overboard with it, so we kept the room a sort of green mint color and added in different shades of pink. Her room is actually pretty big, and I'm still at a bit of a loss on what to do what the looong walls. Hoping to find a large piece of artwork that will grow with her.

My sick toddler..

In the past 3 years, Luna, has never really been terribly sick. We believe she has allergies, but for the most part she has never had the flu, ear infections, or even a bad cold.

Luna is usually a super energetic little lady, has never been one to take long naps, actually fights her sleepy, she can keep going for hours without tiring out. This is why seeing her sick this weekend completely broke my heart... There is something about a sick toddler that is so adorably sad..

Hooks

We have a small little box as an entryway, and are currently just throwing our shoes and belongings on the floor when we come in...

For some reason, I'm loving these horse hooks for our entrance... I'm thinking of maybe wallpapering the area or covering it in wall hooks and random photos....
