Catholic festivals

Yesterday Hector and I took Luna to a Catholic church fall festival. We enjoyed ourselves, Luna loved the moonwalks and flying chairs. We finished our turkey legs,sausage-on-a-stick, and over priced cup of soda. As we are saying our goodbyes to my family, a very ignorant person walks up to Hec to ask him about his Che tattoo. He asks Hec if he knows how many people he killed, and why he would go to a family event knowing he had Che tattooed on him. He continued to say that it was such an uncatholic thing to do.

Now, I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and freedom of speech. I think that some opinions should be kept to yourself, unless you are open to discussing the other persons opinions. What I don't understand is why a man, takes time away from his family just to come and talk down to us. Taking time away, and sending negative vibes to our afternoon. I also didn't know that people with tattoos were uncatholic and not allowed to attend church functions. I was so upset, I won't post what I responded to him, it wasn't too nice.

We went for Mexican food afterwards, I had a margarita, Hec had a dos equis. We laughed about it, him.

I love this man's arm.

30 in New York

I recently turned 30. My close friends and I decided to celebrate in NYC. We stayed in Brooklyn, which I must say, Hector and I both fell in love with. I normally do not like slideshows, but there was too many photos to post so here is a rundown of the weekend: Brooklyn, Chinatown, scary experience purchasing purses, lots of walking, nathans hot dogs (well deserved after all the walking), top shop!!!, fred flare store, shopping, empire state building, times square, central park, frozen mojitos in central park, chimay on the subway, rooftop sessions, too much alcohol, one cup of water, PS1, Indian food bday feast, chocolate vegan bday cupcakes, dancing, dim-sum restaurant rave, achy feet, good times.

Oh also, I expected NY to be more fashion forward but did not see anything way cool. Mucho props to Houston for keeping up with fashion trends, nobody impressed me, like I thought they would.

Thank you so much Chris for being the best tour guide/photographer/patron shot taker/clean apartment person/ and all around good guy!

Beautiful weather = cleaning day

Friday I got off work early, this started my Friday afternoon perfectly. Hector and I, snuck (is this spelled correctly ?) away to a senior citizen showing of Where the Wild things are. Senior citizen, because this is how I referred to movies showing anytime before 9 pm when I was a teenager. I quite enjoy this showing now. I have been waiting for this movie, for what seemed like forever!! I absolutely loved it, I had a huge grin on my face throughout most of the movie. If I had my camera with me at the movie theatre I would have taken a picture of myself and my big kid-like smile.

We left the movie, and outside waiting for us was truly beautiful weather. And what else would YOU do in beautiful weather? We cleaned! Followed by relaxation.

I swear Luna likes to clean, I did not put her up to this : )
Man, looking at clean car. Accomplished feeling.

I will NEVER be a horder.

I love newborns but the fact is toddlers are so much more fun! Our daughter is 2 1/2 yrs old. Luna Isabella. We never started a baby book for her. We started a journal with her developmental milestones. According to our second journal she is still a year old. I accidentally threw out the first journal during one of my cleaning weekends. I like to throw things away so that I do not feel cluttered. I will NEVER be a horder.

I'm starting this blog, in hopes that we will be able to document all our family fun.
Welcome!
