Every year for Chicken's birthday we break open (not literally, there is a little whole on the bottom) her piggy bank, and buy her something as a gift or use the money towards her birthday party. This past year, we started to try to teach Chicken the difference between quarters,nickels, pennies, etc.. We would put the change in, and she would tell us what it was, I don't know how effective it was, but hey you have to start somewhere. By the time her bday came around, she had $130 and some change! She was able to use this money at Magic Kingdom to purchase whatever she wanted. She was super excited to walk up to the cashier,like a big girl , and pay herself!
