F.I.V.E

It's been a busy two weeks over here, I'll post photos from our Chicago trip this week, but more importantly our Chicken turns 5 today!  It's bittersweet, she has her own crazy personality. She is a tomboy in pink. She is into bugs and fairytales, she loves climbing, jumping off high scary things, and is a very sweet, funny, dance loving little girl.  We can not believe she is 5, and almost done with her first year at school!

We arrived back from a bittersweet trip to Chicago early Monday morning. It was a great city, I will post pics soon, but it was also a long 5 nights without the kiddos. We surprised Luna at school for pajama and reading day. Here is my sweet H, reading a spanish book to her class. She was so excited!

Chicken paint to Gallery wall...

I love gallery walls, and my goal is to have this wall filled top to bottom. It started out like this, but then we had our floors redone, and the bookshelf came off the wall, and the white table went to the entry. Now, to fill in the wall... I'm thinking of maybe just taping large piece of paper to the bottom and having the kids draw on it, or framing out a whiteboard for the kiddos to scribble on. Another thought is to have a little table there for the kids to color, craft or eat on from time to time.. along with more bookshelves because we seriously have books everywhere in this house! 

I also have a lot family photos I need to print out and frame, and hopefully they will find a spot here as well. It's still in progress and I didn't realize how hard it was to slap some frames on the wall. If you were to remove the frames you will reveal a lot of holes! Oh my poor white walls :/

This weekend I DIY'd a little piece of my daughters art work, if you remember from HERE . I found these canvas' on sale at Michaels for $4.00 for 2!!!!

1. Print out / enlarge art work
2. Paint the edges in a color of choice
3. Spray adhesive the art work to canvas
4. Modge Podge to seal ( still haven't gotten around to that!)

 

 

 

 

 

It's the weekend..... or was ...

FRIDAY: Mama & Piggy day, had a blast hanging with him, cuddling, and chasing him around!

SATURDAY:  We usually have something to do on Saturdays, but this one we stayed home all day and enjoyed our home.  The kiddos ran around doing silly things, and Chicken found a new pet, Lucy, which died by the evening. She was so bummed. It's super cute how much of a tomboy she can be.  This is her current obsession, rolypoly's....

We also went to a wedding that night, it had been a while since H and I had been out together. The wedding was a blast!!!!   The bride and groom looked stunning, and the entertainment was unforgettable!  I arrived in time for dinner and to catch Robert Ellis and Space City Rockers.  I missed the ceremony, gospel choir, mariachis, and jazz for cocktail hour!

SUNDAY:   More roly poly catching.  We made her return these to the earth.  She was getting very obsessed with catching as many as she could, and it was little sad and a little freaky how many were piled in there...

**** Also, since Android now has the instagram app, I'm hooked.. I'm trying to back away from it now......

Easter

As always, our Easter consists of family, food, fun, confetti fights, volleyball and kickball! We were so exhausted that night, I passed out at 8pm!!

These two hung out everday for the first 2 years of their life, and I feel they have some sort of bond, because they always pick back up where they left off...  and have so much fun together!! They are one week apart :)
